Hello!

I'm Derek and I'm a musician specialized in composing, saxophone performance, and scoring for video games and other media!

I was raised in the suburban town of McMinnville, Oregon, and started playing piano at the age of 10. Later in middle school, I took up the saxophone and made it my main instrument, performing across the state and into my college years.

​

I studied music at Seattle Pacific University from 2020 to 2024, writing

original compositions, arrangements, and performing in a wide variety of ensembles, styles, and genres, from classical to jazz to bluegrass to symphony orchestra. I've gone on to win awards, study across the country and abroad from New York to Vienna, and continue learning as much as I can to put excellence in everything I do!

 

Starting in 2022, I've begun my freelance scoring and performing career, and am always looking for more opportunities to create and perform compelling work. If you have a project, event, or other gig in mind, let's get in touch and make it happen!
